When capturing in home session, you want to be able to capture the moments when families are themselves.

So yes, if you are able to be yourself then I am not doing my job as a photographer. My job is for you to be able to be comfortable in your own home and in your own skin.  
This family feel absolutely comfortable in their own home and skin. Little ones attempting to give me a tour of their home and showing me how to play checkers. Dad played with little ones as he normally would. Mom snuggling up to Dad as she does on a normal day. My job is literally to be a fly on the wall. Just pretend I am not there. If you can notice me, then again, I am not doing my job well.
